What Are Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs)?
GAN stands for Generative Adversarial Networks which is a form of deep learning algorithm whose goal is to create synthetic information similar to real-life information. In GAN, there are two neural networks that compete against each other in order to produce a better output every time the GAN trains.
The first network is called the generator because its purpose is to generate synthetic information such as pictures, videos, audio, and text. The second network, on the other hand, is called the discriminator because it determines whether or not the synthetic information is authentic-looking enough.
Why GANs Matter in Enterprise AI
In today’s world, companies depend on AI models that need significant amounts of high-quality training data, realistic simulations, and synthetic content creation. Traditional data gathering techniques are costly and time-consuming processes, besides being limited by data privacy laws.
GANs offer solutions by providing synthetic data and AI-created assets that can make the development process easier and faster, helping to train, test, personalize, and automate AI models. Companies leverage the power of GANs to build better computer vision models, simulate scenarios, enhance user experience, and minimize their reliance on manual data collection techniques.
GANs have become increasingly significant in the context of AI ecosystems, and they are becoming integral components of AI-native solutions, synthetic data platforms, and MLOps systems.
